What Am I Thankful For???  A Thanksgiving Word for today! #5

I am thankful for second chances (and third, and fourth….God’s infinite grace and mercy can only count…) in Jesus Christ my Lord.  For He has promised to forgive us, and not only to forgive but to “cleanse us from all unrighteousness”!  Praise HIS dear name.  If you are wrestling with guilt or shame, won’t you simply confess your sin and ask for Jesus’ forgiveness and cleansing.  He is standing ready to meet you right there!

“But if we walk in the light,

as he is in the light,

we have fellowship one with another,

and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son

cleanseth us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin,

we deceive ourselves,

and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins,

he is faithful and just

to forgive us our sins,

and to cleanse us

from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned,

we make him a liar,

and his word is not in us.”  1 John 1:7-10

Don’t be a liar—especially to yourself—but call on the TRUTH!

“Jesus saith unto him,

I am the way,

the truth,

and the life:

no man cometh unto the Father,

but by me.”  John 14:6

What Am I Thankful For???  A Thanksgiving Word for today! #4

I am thankful for the love of Jesus that brings the “joy of the Lord” to my heart and soul.  I can’t imagine doing this life without the greatest friend I’ve ever had, Jesus Christ The Lord.  He loves me, He died to save my soul, and He gives me joy beyond measure.  Won’t you join me and spend some time today rehearsing all the blessings of God, and you’ll surely find the “joy” begin to well up inside and you can’t help but smile!

“Then he said unto them,

Go your way,

eat the fat,

and drink the sweet,

and send portions unto them

for whom nothing is prepared:

for this day is holy unto our Lord:

neither be ye sorry;

for the joy of the LORD

is your strength.”  Nehemiah 8:10

An amazing verse to a people who had wrestled with their enemies and their own unfaithfulness yet worked together against all odds to restore their city, and God’s faithfulness met them at every turn, and now they are come together to praise God and listen to HIS WORD; and here Nehemiah reminds them that God has given them joy in a job well done, and in HIS joy we find our strength.  Need a boost?  Look to Jesus and let HIS joy fill your soul.

Peter also reminded a group of believers, in great persecution, that there is joy IN JESUS no matter our circumstances!  Trials come to us all—but IN JESUS there is hope and joy.

“That the trial of your faith,

being much more precious than of gold

that perisheth,

though it be tried with fire,

might be found unto praise

and honour

and glory

at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

8 Whom having not seen,

ye love;

in whom,

though now ye see him not,

yet believing,

ye rejoice

with joy unspeakable

and full of glory:

9 Receiving the end of your faith,

even the salvation of your souls.”   1 Peter 1:7-9

May the “joy of the Lord” pervade your soul today.  Remember, we win!!!

What Am I Thankful For???  A Thanksgiving Word for today! #3

I am thankful for Jesus and HIS substitutionary, atoning sacrifice that was made for you and me; if we but repent of our sin and believe in His amazing sacrifice on the cross for all who will come.

“Giving thanks unto the Father,

which hath made us meet to be partakers

of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13 Who hath delivered us

from the power of darkness,

and hath translated us

into the kingdom of his dear Son:

14 In whom we have redemption

through his blood,

even the forgiveness of sins:”              Colossians 1:12-14

You see, my friends, sin IS the issue and only Jesus has the “cure”!  It’s why HE came; and for that I am grateful!

“And she shall bring forth a son,

and thou shalt call his name JESUS:

for he shall save his people

from their sins.

22 Now all this was done,

that it might be fulfilled

which was spoken of the Lord

by the prophet, saying,

23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child,

and shall bring forth a son,

and they shall call his name Emmanuel,

which being interpreted is,

God with us.” Matthew 1:21-23

God with us=JESUS, who came to deliver us from the penalty of sin and give us ‘abundant’ life through His blood!

Amen!!!

What Am I Thankful For???  A Thanksgiving Word for today! #2

 

When I don’t know where to go, then what?  I run to my faithful God!

“The name of the LORD

is a strong tower:

the righteous runneth into it,

and is safe.”  Proverbs 18:10

 God is ever faithful, not only to send “His only begotten Son” for our salvation, but He ever stands beside us and will direct our steps if we will but heed to His voice!

“Hear my cry, O God;

attend unto my prayer.

2 From the end of the earth will I cry

unto thee,

when my heart is overwhelmed:

lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

3 For thou hast been a shelter for me,

and a strong tower from the enemy.

4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever:

I will trust in the covert of thy wings.

Selah.”  Psalm 61:1-4

And one of my favorite words of encouragement for which I am most thankful!  How about you?  Take heart my friends—God IS here—there—everywhere!

“Trust in the LORD

with all thine heart;

and lean not

unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him,

and he shall direct thy paths.”  Proverbs 3:5-6

What Am I Thankful For???  A Thanksgiving Word for today! #1

When I don’t know what to do?

“If any of you lack wisdom,

let him ask of God,

that giveth to all men liberally,

and upbraideth not;

and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith,

nothing wavering.

For he that wavereth

is like a wave of the sea

driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think

that he shall receive any thing

of the Lord.

8 A double minded man

is unstable in all his ways.”  James 1:5-8

I am thankful that The Almighty God of all creation loves me and has promised to grant me wisdom for each day.  You can count on Jesus!  He never fails.
