A Thankful Heart???  A Word from THE WORD!!! #291

Today I want to share a message of gratitude; gratitude to each of you that have been a part of Bible Ballistics, you make my heart smile!  So I just want to share some words of gratitude from God’s Word!

“Grace be unto you,

and peace,

from God our Father,

and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 I thank my God

upon every remembrance of you,” Philippians 1:2-3

God is so gracious and kind to give us friends, acquaintances and loved ones to share our lives with, and I thank each of you for helping to make this blog beneficial, to those I haven’t yet met, as well as those I have known and loved for years.  May we continue to bless and encourage one another.

“I thank my God always on your behalf,

for the grace of God

which is given you by Jesus Christ;”  1 Corinthians 1:4

And more from Paul, and like many of you whom I have never met, Paul hadn’t been to Colossae either, yet because he had heard of their faith in Jesus, he prayed for them and sent an amazing letter to encourage them. (Read it today!)

“We give thanks to God

and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

praying always for you,

4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus,

and of the love which ye have

to all the saints,” Colossians 1:3-4

This theme of gratitude and praying for one another is found throughout scripture, and it is there to remind us that we are to care for one another as we have opportunity and pray for our fellow believers continually.  God hears and answers prayer—not always in our way or in our in our time, but I serve a prayer-answering God, I hope you do to!  I pray that you know Him as well.  As we develop and grow in our attitude of gratitude, it is amazing to see the blessings of God; for we are all blessed, we all aren’t always paying attention.  Look up my friends, Jesus loves you and so do I.

“Rejoice evermore.

17 Pray without ceasing.

18 In every thing give thanks:

for this is the will of God

in Christ Jesus

concerning you.”  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Of course we couldn’t end a post on gratitude without a word from the Psalms; oh how replete are they with the joy of the Lord, comfort for the sorrowful, hope for the downtrodden, and the eternal message that our “God reigneth”!

“O give thanks unto the God of heaven:

for his mercy endureth for ever.”  Psalm 136:26

May your day be full of peace “that passeth all understanding” as you thank God in all things.  Remember, we win!

“And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude,

and as the voice of many waters,

and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying,

Alleluia:

for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

7 Let us be glad and rejoice,

and give honour to him…”. Revelation 19:6-7a

Amen and Amen!!!

An Attitude Not Just A Day??? A Word from THE WORD!!! #157

An Attitude Not Just A Day???  A Word from THE WORD!!! #157

I just want to share with you today a reminder that “Thanksgiving” isn’t just a day, but an attitude of the heart!  We don’t just thank God once a year at our house, but we praise HIM each and every day—throughout the day!  My heart overflows with gratitude to God for my salvation—that Jesus loves you/me so much that HE came to earth, took on human flesh and blood, lived a sinless life, not just to be an example but to BE the “Lamb of God who taketh away the sin of the world”; HE took away that sin at Calvary for every man, woman, boy and girl who will come to HIM in repentance and faith in HIS substitutionary, atoning sacrifice!  HE is THE “way…truth…and life”, the only way to God The Father!

“Jesus saith unto him,

I am the way,

the truth,

and the life:

no man cometh unto the Father,

but by me.”  John 14:6

How can we not praise HIM for that gift, that love, that faithful promise to walk with us every moment of every day!  I’m grateful for that continually, not just one day a year.  If you know Jesus, won’t you praise and thank HIM today and every day that HE gives us?  If you don’t know HIM, you can know HIM, He came to die for YOU!

“Behold,

I stand at the door,

and knock:

if any man hear my voice,

and open the door,

I will come in to him,

and will sup with him,

and he with me.”  Revelation 3:20

Jesus is worthy of our praise and gratitude!  So let’s work on our “attitude of gratitude”; for we can be “humbly grateful or grumbly hateful”!  The choice is yours but choose wisely, there is a test!!!

Let’s join the Psalmist in our praise and thanksgiving today and every day throughout the year!

“O LORD,

truly I am thy servant;

I am thy servant,

and the son of thine handmaid:

thou hast loosed my bonds.

17 I will offer to thee

the sacrifice of thanksgiving,

and will call upon

the name of the LORD.

18 I will pay my vows unto the LORD

now

in the presence of all his people,

19 In the courts of the LORD’S house,

in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem.

Praise ye the LORD.”  Psalm 116:16-19

And as you praise God, remember to pray for the “peace of Jerusalem”, for her redemption “draweth nigh”!

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

they shall prosper that love thee.”  Psalm 122:6

Amen and Amen!!!

Christ And HIM Crucified??? Bible Ballistics: Vol. 19 No. 21

Bible Ballistics: Vol. 19 No. 21 Christ And HIM Crucified???

I have a simple and hopefully encouraging word for today–it’s all about Jesus from one of the most profound scriptures in all of The Word (to me!)!  I pray that it will lift your heart this week, as we here in the U.S. celebrate a day of Thanksgiving; while knowing that “Thanks–Giving” is a heart attitude not just a ‘day’ of family, food, and football; not just a ‘day’ for turkey, treats, and too much dessert; not just a day of sharing our blessings, but truly a day to remember and praise God for HIS amazing gifts of love, mercy, and sustenance!  All because we are loved by the Creator of the universe!!

“For God so loved the world,

that he gave

his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him

should not perish,

but have everlasting life.”  John 3:16

And what did God give His Son to do?  To take on flesh, live among sinful men and give HIS life on the cross for our sin!

“And she shall bring forth a son,

and thou shalt call his name JESUS:

for he shall save his people

from their sins.”  Matthew 1:21

And for your consideration as we go through this week, hopefully focusing on our “attitude of gratitude”, remembering the beauty of the gift that Jesus became!

“Let this mind be in you,

which was also in Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in the form of God,

thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7 But made himself of no reputation,

and took upon him the form of a servant,

and was made in the likeness of men:

8 And being found in fashion as a man,

he humbled himself,

and became obedient unto death,

even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him,

and given him a name

which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus

every knee should bow,

of things in heaven,

and things in earth,

and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess

that Jesus Christ is Lord,

to the glory of God the Father.”  Philippians 2:5-11

May God bless you with eyes to see and ears to hear.  May we each respond in gratitude for the greatest gift ever given!

Oh, that we will truly be found to be a grateful people, believing in this “only begotten son”, and I pray that you will receive HIS gift of “everlasting life” which JESUS bought and paid for at Calvary with HIS own blood! Thank YOU, JESUS!  (See Revelation 1:5)

Blessings on you and yours, my friends.  And may you enjoy a most love-filled HAPPY THANKS-GIVING!!!

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,

and into his courts with praise:

be thankful unto him,

and bless his name.”  Psalm 100:4

Amen and Amen!!!

What Am I Thankful For??? A Thanksgiving Word for today! #6

What Am I Thankful For???  A Thanksgiving Word for today! #6

When I don’t know how I’ll make it, what do I do?  I bow before The King of Kings and Lord of Lords, who cares about everything that comes into my life and yours!!

“Rejoice in the Lord alway:

and again I say, Rejoice.

5 Let your moderation

be known unto all men.

The Lord is at hand.

6 Be careful for nothing;

but in every thing

by prayer and supplication

with thanksgiving

let your requests be made known

unto God.

7 And the peace of God,

which passeth all understanding,

shall keep your hearts and minds

through Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:4-7

Taking every single one of our “requests” to “be made known unto God”!  All because HE cares for us. And Paul goes on to remind us of how to keep our hearts and minds set on Jesus and tuned in to God’s ways.

“Finally, brethren,

whatsoever things are true,

whatsoever things are honest,

whatsoever things are just,

whatsoever things are pure,

whatsoever things are lovely,

whatsoever things are of good report;

if there be any virtue,

and if there be any praise,

think on these things.”  Philippians 4:8

The prophet Micah writes an amazing instruction regarding our posture before our God, as well as what our God desires from us!  And when we think on these eight things that Paul recommends, we will find the strength, grace, and truth to stand “against the wiles of the devil” no matter the circumstances–standing in Jesus, our truth!

“Wherewith shall I come before the LORD,

and bow myself before the high God?

shall I come before him

with burnt offerings,

with calves of a year old?

7 Will the LORD be pleased

with thousands of rams,

or with ten thousands of rivers of oil?

shall I give my firstborn

for my transgression,

the fruit of my body

for the sin of my soul?

8 He hath shewed thee, O man,

what is good;

and what doth the LORD require of thee,

but to do justly,

and to love mercy,

and to walk humbly

with thy God?”  Micah 6:6-8

And how do we “walk humbly with thy God”?  John revealed the answer to Nicodemus, and it’s still true for everyone who will receive it today!

“For God so loved the world,

that he gave

his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him

should not perish,

but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son

into the world

to condemn the world;

but that the world

through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him

is not condemned:

but he that believeth not

is condemned already,

because he hath not believed

in the name of the only begotten

Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation,

that light is come into the world,

and men loved darkness

rather than light,

because their deeds were evil.”  John 3:16-19

I pray that you will find comfort, encouragement, and hope in these Thanksgiving posts; and be sure and keep that “attitude of gratitude”!  Remember, you can be “humbly grateful, or grumbly hateful”!  It’s your choice but remember there is a test!

“In every thing give thanks:

for this is the will of God

in Christ Jesus

concerning you.”  1 Thessalonians 5:18

Amen and Amen!!!

What Am I Thankful For???  A Thanksgiving Word for today! #1

When I don’t know what to do?

“If any of you lack wisdom,

let him ask of God,

that giveth to all men liberally,

and upbraideth not;

and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith,

nothing wavering.

For he that wavereth

is like a wave of the sea

driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think

that he shall receive any thing

of the Lord.

8 A double minded man

is unstable in all his ways.”  James 1:5-8

I am thankful that The Almighty God of all creation loves me and has promised to grant me wisdom for each day.  You can count on Jesus!  He never fails.

Amen and Amen!!!
