Sneaky Snake???  A Word from THE WORD!!! #401

Just a reminder that same sneaky snake that tricked Eve into doubting God and His Word, is after you and me!  We must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, with our armor on and we can “withstand in the evil day”!  And oh, my friends, that “evil day” is upon us, but are we suited up and ready for the battle?  May we be diligent to stay alert, it’s so easy to fall into his traps, deceits and tricks.  May we be found faithful!

“Abide in me,

and I in you.

As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself,

except it abide in the vine;

no more can ye,

except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine,

ye are the branches:

He that abideth in me,

and I in him,

the same bringeth forth much fruit:

for without me ye can do nothing.”  John 15:4-5

And let’s look at some other passages to lift us up today, for the traps are set for us, yet in Jesus we can be victorious.

“But thanks be to God,

which giveth us the victory

through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren,

be ye stedfast,

unmoveable,

always abounding

in the work of the Lord,

forasmuch as ye know

that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”                                  1 Corinthians 15:57-58

Peter also gives us some wise advice; may we take heed to God’s Word which prepares us for this evil day!

“And when the chief Shepherd shall appear,

ye shall receive a crown of glory

that fadeth not away.

5 Likewise, ye younger,

submit yourselves unto the elder.

Yea, all of you

be subject one to another,

and be clothed with humility:

for God resisteth the proud,

and giveth grace to the humble.

6 Humble yourselves therefore

under the mighty hand of God,

that he may exalt you in due time:

7 Casting all your care upon him;

for he careth for you.

8 Be sober,

be vigilant;

because your adversary the devil,

as a roaring lion,

walketh about,

seeking whom he may devour:

9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith,

knowing that the same afflictions

are accomplished in your brethren

that are in the world.

10 But the God of all grace,

who hath called us unto his eternal glory

by Christ Jesus,

after that ye have suffered a while,

make you perfect,

stablish,

strengthen,

settle you.

11 To him be glory and dominion

for ever and ever. Amen.”  1 Peter 5:4-11

Paul gave some more sound advice to the Colossian believers; may we take heed.  I just feel so heavy this morning that you and I may be found faithful when our Lord comes—and it could be today!

“Put on therefore,

as the elect of God,

holy and beloved,

bowels of mercies,

kindness,

humbleness of mind,

meekness,

longsuffering;

13 Forbearing one another,

and forgiving one another,

if any man have a quarrel against any:

even as Christ forgave you,

so also do ye.

14 And above all these things

put on charity,

which is the bond of perfectness.

15 And let the peace of God

rule in your hearts,

to the which also ye are called in one body;

and be ye thankful.

16 Let the word of Christ

dwell in you richly

in all wisdom;

teaching

and admonishing one another

in psalms

and hymns

and spiritual songs,

singing with grace in your hearts

to the Lord.

17 And whatsoever ye do

in word or deed,

do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,

giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”                   Colossians 3:12-17

And our crowning reassurance!  I pray that you will find encouragement, hope and joy in this post today.  I needed it, how about you?  May God’s blessings and grace overshadow you today and ever!

“Let not your heart be troubled:

ye believe in God,

believe also in me.

2 In my Father’s house are many mansions:

if it were not so, I would have told you.

I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you,

I will come again,

and receive you unto myself;

that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know,

and the way ye know.”  John 14:1-4

“Teaching them to observe all things

whatsoever I have commanded you:

and, lo, I am with you alway,

even unto the end of the world.

Amen.”  Matthew 28:20

Remember sneaky snake doesn’t win—Jesus does—and we also do In Him!!!

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb,

and by the word of their testimony;

and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Revelation 12:11

Amen and Amen!!!
