A Prayerful Heart???  A Word from THE WORD!!! #241

Just a few thoughts that I pray will call us all to Pray!  Paul told us to “Pray without ceasing…”, and while that doesn’t mean to go around with your eyes closed, or to be prostrate on the floor all day; rather it means to have an attitude of prayer on our minds—when I’m driving, when I’m walking, even when I’m cleaning as I ponder people, places and things I lift these things up in prayer to my Lord, ever interceding for those in need, our nation, those who are suffering and grief laden, for me to be a better witness to those around me, to those God sends across my path.  So I’d like to share a few passages on prayer and a prayer that I wrote many years ago that I try to pray each day.  In fact, it’s taped to my bathroom mirror, for I need the daily reminder— “today”!

Father,

Your will for today IS mine.

Your pleasure for today IS mine.

Your work for today IS mine.

Tomorrow IS yours alone to reveal.

Yesterday IS ours alone—

Mine to release to you

Yours to weave into the image

Of Jesus Christ my Lord.    Blanche Brittain

Our Lord said it best, and it is the pattern for us to pray—not to be repeated in rote repetition, but to teach us that we are to come to God in praise for who HE is, to seek HIS Kingdom (and only those who are born again, can truly call Him Father, see John 1:10-14, and John 3:16-19), and HIS will in all we do.  To seek His faithful provision in every day—daily!  To repent and seek His forgiveness (for we all sin each day!). And to acknowledge HIS sovereign control in all things!!!  Get it, ALL things!  He’s at work whether we understand it or not.  I can’t speak for you, but I trust Him—not the government or the weatherman!

“After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done in earth,

as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day

our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power,

and the glory,

for ever. Amen.”  Matthew 6:9-13

Spend some time with Jesus and The Father today through the power and direction of The Holy Spirit; for when we don’t have the words, HE does!

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:

for we know not what we should pray for

as we ought:

but the Spirit itself maketh intercession

for us with groanings

which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts

knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,

because he maketh intercession

for the saints

according to the will of God.”  Romans 8:26-27

PRAY!!!  Amen and Amen!!!

Is It PRAY Day???      A Word from THE WORD!!! #205

If there was ever a time that we needed to fall on our knees and pray?  I would just like to share some words of challenge, hope and instruction that we may call upon our God with a heart willing to behave and seek HIM in love, conviction, and righteousness.

Some prayer directions that might help us seek HIM:

When are we to pray?

“Pray without ceasing.

18 In every thing give thanks:

for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus

concerning you.”  1 Thessalonians 5:17-18

Why are we to pray?

“Confess your faults one to another,

and pray one for another,

that ye may be healed.

The effectual fervent prayer

of a righteous man

availeth much.”  James 5:16

“Epaphras,

who is one of you,

a servant of Christ,

saluteth you,

always labouring fervently for you in prayers,

that ye may stand

perfect

and complete

in all the will of God.”  Colossians 4:12

“We give thanks to God

and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

praying always for you,” Colossians 1:3

What are we to pray for?  As we’ve seen above, we are to pray for one another, for spiritual growth and maturity of the brethren, for our own faithful life of righteousness, and that of the family of God!  Our life must line up with our praying, and there is one thing that we are to pray always—and right now, we need to double up (in my humble opinion!)!  If it’s important to God, it ought to be important to us.

“And I will bless them that bless thee,

and curse him that curseth thee:

and in thee

shall all families of the earth

be blessed.”  Genesis 12:3

“I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem,

which shall never hold their peace

day nor night:

ye that make mention of the LORD,

keep not silence,

7 And give him no rest,

till he establish,

and till he make Jerusalem

a praise in the earth.”  Isaiah 62:6-7

And may we ever stand fast praying:

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

they shall prosper that love thee.”  Psalm 122:6

We are to pray because it is our lifeline to God, and our obligation to a lost and dying world—especially our world today!  And a few words from some praying men’s examples.

“O my God, incline thine ear,

and hear;

open thine eyes,

and behold our desolations,

and the city which is called by thy name:

for we do not present our supplications before thee

for our righteousnesses,

but for thy great mercies.

19 O Lord, hear;

O Lord, forgive;

O Lord, hearken and do; defer not,

for thine own sake, O my God:

for thy city

and thy people are called by thy name.” Daniel 9:18-19                          (And if you really want to see a heart set unto prayer, I encourage you to read all of Daniel 9—one of the most heart-rending prayers and models of all scripture.)

Our prayers are to be according to God’s will, while asking in faith for that which HE has laid upon our hearts.

“And he went a little further,

and fell on his face,

and prayed, saying,

O my Father, if it be possible,

let this cup pass from me:

nevertheless not as I will,

but as thou wilt…

….41 Watch and pray,

that ye enter not into temptation:

the spirit indeed is willing,

but the flesh is weak.

42 He went away again the second time,

and prayed, saying,

O my Father,

if this cup may not pass away from me,

except I drink it,

thy will be done.

43 And he came and found them asleep again:

for their eyes were heavy.

44 And he left them,

and went away again, and

prayed the third time,

saying the same words.” Matthew 26:39 & 41-43

The very best way to pray according to God’s will, is to know God’s Word!  Then trust the precious Holy Spirit will make intercession when we can’t find the right words—He is ever willing to take our heart to God!

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart,

that I might not sin against thee.”  Psalm 119:11

“Let the words of my mouth,

and the meditation of my heart,

be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD,

my strength,

and my redeemer.”  Psalm 19:14

And Jesus’ admonition and instruction about prayer:

“After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done

in earth,

as it is in heaven…

….13 And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power,

and the glory, for ever. Amen.”  Matthew 6:9-10 & 13

And Paul’s great assurance:

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:

for we know not what we should pray for

as we ought:

but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us

with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts

knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,

because he maketh intercession for the saints

according to the will of God.”  Romans 8:26-27

And in closing our confidence is ever in our God’s open arms, and His ear!

“For we have not an high priest

which cannot be touched

with the feeling of our infirmities;

but was in all points tempted like as we are,

yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore

come boldly unto the throne of grace,

that we may obtain mercy,

and find grace to help

in time of need.”  Hebrews 4:15-16

I pray that we who claim the name of Jesus Christ The Lord for our salvation, will call upon our God while there is still time to see deliverance.  Are we really the “my people” who will call upon God for wisdom, forgiveness, strength, and deliverance?

“If

my people,

which are called by my name,

shall humble themselves,

and pray,

and seek my face,

and turn from their wicked ways;

then will I hear from heaven,

and will forgive their sin,

and will heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14

Amen and Amen!!!

JESUS WEPT???  You Can Too! A Word from THE WORD!!! #160

       “Jesus wept.”  John 11:35

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love Christmas—I love Jesus, so I love the season that celebrates His incarnation; His becoming man, a flesh and blood man who would live a sinless life, not only as an example but as the perfect, holy, “Lamb of God who taketh away the sin of the world”—The One born to die for my sin and yours!  (See Matthew 1:21 & John 1:12-14). Oh, praise God HE came for me!

Jesus lived, walked upon this earth as a man so that HE could be the perfect sacrifice for sin which God required, and I’m so grateful for that, but I’m also grateful that this sinless Son of God showed us that it’s alright to be sad.  I know many of you, like myself have the joy of the Lord, yet there’s some event, or tragedy or loss that came at this time of year (or any time of the year) and it still grieves our heart and brings those sad moments when the tears may or may not flow, but the pain is still there—with or without the smile!  Well my friends, this post is for YOU!  I have those tears too, but Jesus showed us that those tears are not shameful, or ugly, or inappropriate!  They are a healing and comforting gift from our Father in heaven!

“Thou tellest my wanderings:

put thou my tears into thy bottle:

are they not in thy book?”  Psalm 56:8

Isaiah was sent back, after giving the King a death message, to tell Hezekiah that God had heard his prayer and seen his tears when he asked God to heal him. Remember, our God hears, He sees, and He knows the pain that we feel.

“Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people,

Thus saith the LORD,

the God of David thy father,

I have heard thy prayer,

I have seen thy tears:

behold, I will heal thee:

on the third day

thou shalt go up

unto the house of the LORD.” 2 Kings 20:5

Jesus knows our hearts and the precious Holy Spirit intercedes when we don’t have the words—only tears and sorrow.  All because of the price that Jesus paid at Calvary to redeem us by HIS own blood.

“My friends scorn me:

but mine eye poureth out tears unto God.” Job 16:20

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:

for we know not what we should pray for

 as we ought:

but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us

with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts

knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,

because he maketh intercession for the saints

according to the will of God.”  Romans 8:26-27

We also have our great intercessor ever at the Right Hand of God– always!  Jesus cares, and you can trust to HIS care—He hears your prayers—even the ones that just come out in floods of tears without words!  So, run to HIM, cry on HIS shoulder—they’re big enough to hold you, and HE tells us we can come any time we need to!  So don’t hold back those tears (even those of us who hate to let them out before others, for sometimes other people need to be aware!), just remember that Jesus died for those tears!

“For we have not an high priest

which cannot be touched

with the feeling of our infirmities;

but was in all points tempted like as we are,

yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly

unto the throne of grace,

that we may obtain mercy,

and find grace to help

in time of need.”  Hebrews 4:15-16

Take comfort in HIS care—He loves you so much that He came to earth, took on flesh and blood, walked among sinful people, reached out to those who rejected HIM, loved, lived, and laid down HIS life to pay for my sin and yours, rose again the third day, so that we could truly have eternal, “abundant life” IN HIM!  Even through the times of sorrow, tears, and grief.  HE loves you and me.

“Who shall lay any thing

to the charge of God’s elect?

It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth?

It is Christ that died,

yea rather, that is risen again,

who is even at the right hand of God,

who also maketh intercession for us.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

 shall tribulation,

or distress,

or persecution,

or famine,

or nakedness,

or peril,

 or sword?

36 As it is written,

For thy sake we are killed all the day long;

we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay,

in all these things we are more than conquerors

through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded,

that neither death,

nor life,

nor angels,

nor principalities,

nor powers,

nor things present,

nor things to come,

39 Nor height,

nor depth,

nor any other creature,

shall be able to separate us

from the love of God,

which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”                    Romans 8:33-39

Walk in victory my friend; Jesus knows your sorrow, but let Him restore your joy, by sharing your sorrow with Him anytime!  He cares—remember, HE cried too!

Amen and Amen!!!

Faith Isn’t Arm-wrestling??? Bible Ballistics: Vol. 19 No. 20

Bible Ballistics: Vol. 19 No. 20 Faith Isn’t Arm-wrestling???

We live in a culture that tries to reinvent ‘faith’.  And while “Faith Isn’t Arm-wrestling” with God, there are those who equate faith with speaking our will into existence–with or without any regard for God, His Word, or His will.  Then there are those who say all we have to do is think positive and it will happen–kind of ‘cartoon’ mentality!  Then there is the mindset of “chase ‘your’ dreams”, and you will attain them; and the “pray harder” theology.  Well, I’d like us to take a look at what I believe to be a biblical view of faith (and praying in faith).

“Now faith is

the substance of things hoped for,

the evidence of things not seen…

… 3 Through faith

we understand that the worlds were framed

by the word of God,

so that things which are seen were not made

of things which do appear…

….5 By faith

Enoch was translated

that he should not see death;

and was not found,

because God had translated him:

for before his translation

he had this testimony,

that he pleased God.

6 But without faith

it is impossible to please him:

for he that cometh to God

must believe that he is,

and that he is a rewarder

of them that diligently seek him.”                            Portions of Hebrews 11:1-6

Let’s consider this powerful passage, part of the often called, “Chapter/Hall of Faith”, and see what scripture clearly tells us about faith. The word “substance” in verse one, among other things, means a firm assurance or confidence; kind of like the confidence and assurance one places in a lifesaver that is thrown out to save them from drowning in the ocean.  Jesus is our literal ‘lifesaver’, THE “life-saver” who paid for our sin that we might be saved from sin, hell, and eternal death at Calvary! And the word “evidence” means just that, but much more, to quote the Greek Word Study Dictionary, by Spiros Zodhiates, “implies not merely the charge on the which one is convicted, but also the manifestation of the truth of that charge…”! Hence telling us that faith is real because God has proven Himself faithful at every turn.  He has kept HIS Word and He has fulfilled HIS promises to date (and the ones still pending will come to fulfillment just as surely!)!  The author of Hebrews assures us that our faith helps us to understand God’s truth as creator, as well as redeemer; and that without faith, no matter how “outwardly good” we may appear to others, we cannot please God without faith!  Not just meaningless words, but a true and confident belief that “he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”!

Did you notice that it’s not just simply speaking words but a belief in who God is, and HE knows who is “diligently” seeking HIM!  Are we seeking God, or just wanting to convince HIM to do our will, to meet our demands, and make us “happy”!  Let me assure you, God is more concerned with our “holiness” than our “happiness”, considering that “happiness” regards our circumstances not our character.  Paul tells us in Romans what God is working toward!

“And we know that all things

work together for good

to them that love God,

to them who are the called

according to his purpose.

29 For whom he did foreknow,

he also did predestinate

to be conformed to the image of his Son,

that he might be the firstborn

among many brethren.

30 Moreover whom he did predestinate,

them he also called:

and whom he called,

them he also justified:

and whom he justified,

them he also glorified.”  Romans 8:29-30

God’s purpose is that we will “be conformed to the image of his Son”!  He isn’t as concerned about our comfort, as He is about our conformity to the “image of his Son”!  If I may, God wants us to reflect the glory of JESUS, not the popularity of the world!  Our payday (reward) isn’t usually here, it is yet to come!

Jesus makes it very simple and clear what our focus is to be–in our life, in our prayers, and in our choices.

“After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father

which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done

in earth,

as it is in heaven.”  Matthew 6:9-10

Are you and I ready to seek God’s will and God’s kingdom to come within us and be reflected outwardly to a lost and dying world who needs Jesus?  Am I willing to forgo my own desires to pursue HIS?

“Trust in the LORD

with all thine heart;

and lean not

unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways

acknowledge him,

and he shall direct thy paths.

7 Be not wise

in thine own eyes:

fear the LORD,

and depart from evil.

8 It shall be health to thy navel,

and marrow to thy bones.”  Proverbs 3:5-8

God also has promised us who have received the new birth in Jesus, that His Holy Spirit will interceded for us when we don’t know what to pray for, and those times when we just can’t find words or wisdom.

“My brethren, count it all joy

when ye fall into divers temptations;

3 Knowing this,

that the trying of your faith

worketh patience.

4 But let patience

have her perfect work,

that ye may be perfect and entire,

wanting nothing.

5 If any of you lack wisdom,

let him ask of God,

that giveth to all men liberally,

and upbraideth not;

and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith,

nothing wavering.

For he that wavereth

is like a wave of the sea

driven with the wind

and tossed.”  James 1:2-6

Our great comforter is ever working in, through and for us; and when James speaks of “want” he isn’t speaking of our fleshly desires but God’s work and provision to bring us to maturity and glory in HIS presence as HE works in and through us.  James wants us to understand that real faith stands fast in WHO God IS, not just what He does!  Yet, there’s more!

“Likewise the Spirit also

helpeth our infirmities:

for we know not

what we should pray for

as we ought:

but the Spirit itself

maketh intercession for us

with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts

knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,

because he maketh intercession

for the saints

according to the will of God.”  Romans 8:26-27

What amazing promises, not so that we can twist God’s arm to get what we want, but that we can be in perfect harmony with our Lord Jesus as we pray, seeking HIS “kingdom” and HIS “will” to come in our hearts, our lives, our ministries, our families, and our testimony before this lost and dying world.  They don’t need our boasts of our own power, but the confidence in a God who is “good all the time” for “all the time GOD IS GOOD”!

We all have times when we are confused, but often our confusion comes when we have failed to seek God first!  I know I ‘wrestle’ with this continually.  So often the demands, pressures, physical issues, emotional hurts, and just LIFE gets between us and God.  That is when we must, I repeat–we MUST–turn to God and HIS Word to find our lodestar again!

“Humble yourselves therefore

under the mighty hand of God,

that he may exalt you

in due time:

7 Casting all your care

upon him;

for he careth

for you.

8 Be sober,

be vigilant;

because your adversary the devil,

as a roaring lion,

walketh about,

seeking whom he may devour:

9 Whom resist

stedfast in the faith,

knowing that the same afflictions

are accomplished in your brethren

that are in the world.”  1 Peter 5:6-9

Praise God for HIS gracious care toward us, and may we pursue HIS will, rather than dictate to HIM!

“Ask,

and it shall be given you;

seek,

and ye shall find;

knock,

and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh

receiveth;

and he that seeketh

findeth;

and to him that knocketh

it shall be opened.”  Matthew 7:7-8

Notice that Jesus said to ask, seek and knock to receive, find, and have doors opened (in HIS time); He did NOT say “demand”, “decide for yourself”, or “push the door down”!  And if we back up to chapter 6, we’ll see the context of truth that we can’t overlook.

“But seek ye first

the kingdom of God,

and his righteousness;

and all these things

shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought

for the morrow:

for the morrow

shall take thought for the things of itself.

Sufficient unto the day

is the evil thereof.”  Matthew 6:33-34

We are to pursue God and “his righteousness” and rest in His faithful provision for us; knowing that He has called us to be faithful fathers and mothers, faithful employees, faithful students, pastors, wives, husbands, caregivers, cooks…we could go on, but I think you get the picture, for our call is to take in the ‘whole counsel of God’ (The Bible–all of it) which calls us to be a reflection of HIS faithfulness in all we do, not just our ‘religious’ activity!  It’s one of the reasons that I believe we have become so powerless in our churches; we have chosen busy-ness rather than faithful holiness; we have compromised in almost every area of Holy living, to be popular and ‘fit in’!  Well, my friends I choose Jesus!  How about you?

I close with one of the most powerful, but often written off to children’s verses or funeral passages, scriptures that help us know that we can rely upon our God.  We aren’t to arm-wrestle with our God but love and devote our lives to trust in HIS care!

“The LORD is

my shepherd;

I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down

in green pastures:

he leadeth me

beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth

my soul:

he leadeth me

in the paths of righteousness

for his name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk

through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil:

for thou art with me;

thy rod

and thy staff

they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table

before me

in the presence of mine enemies:

thou anointest my head

with oil;

my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy

shall follow me

all the days of my life:

and I will dwell

in the house of the LORD

for ever.”  Psalm 23:1-6

Is HE your shepherd?  I pray that God’s Word will direct, comfort, and encourage your heart today!  Blessings on your day–

Amen and Amen!!!

While we are living in perilous time, it amazes me that we are so easily distracted from one of the most essential elements of our faith—prayer!  I know for me it is so easy to have that time set aside to be with my Lord, and it seems that nine million things creep into that time and space to distract me from my “prime directive”, if you would!  It is so easy to “intend” to do things and yet by default, or distraction, or urgency we are drawn into something else that seems so important at the time (and sometimes it is urgent, and God knows that, and let me add that prayer isn’t restricted to a “time” and “place” but it also includes having a spirit of prayer in all we do—driving, cooking, working, playing—all with that attitude of prayer in our heart!)!  I know that I have fallen so far short in this area of keeping that time to be with my Lord and my God a priority!  It is essential in these troublesome times that we as a nation—as God’s people—as the lifeline for lost souls—that we keep our eyes, our hope and our commitment focused on Jesus relentlessly!  Why?  Because HE IS THE only true hope, and also because HE calls us to be a people of prayer!

What is prayer?  It’s not just talking to God, but taking time to share our heart, our hopes, and our vision with The One who is our all in all!  HE is all that I can truly depend upon, and listening to HIM who indwells every genuine believer—regardless of our color, our nationality or our personality—for Jesus is “all” and “in all” of HIS own!

“Where there is neither Greek nor Jew,

circumcision nor uncircumcision,

Barbarian,

Scythian,

bond nor free:

but Christ

is all,

and in all.”  Colossians 3:11

The Holy Spirit in us is the evidence of whose we are!

“But ye are not in the flesh,

but in the Spirit,

if so be that the Spirit of God

dwell in you.

Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ,

he is none of his.”   Romans 8:9

Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to those who come to Him, and through the Holy Spirit we have continual access to our Father, and The Son!  He is our own personal 24-hour line to our Lord!

“Likewise the Spirit also

helpeth our infirmities:

for we know not what we should pray for

as we ought:

but the Spirit itself

maketh intercession for us

with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts

knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,

because he maketh intercession

for the saints

according to the will of God.”  Romans 8:26-27

Such a gift that the world cannot recognize, yet it is the power of God in the lives of His children, and we so often fail to avail ourselves of His gift to us, and the source of His persistent, overcoming power.  God calls us to come to HIM for He is ever listening for His children to call and come to HIM!

“Seeing then that we have a great high priest,

that is passed into the heavens,

Jesus the Son of God,

let us hold fast our profession.

15 For we have not an high priest

which cannot be touched

with the feeling of our infirmities;

but was in all points

tempted like as we are,

yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly

unto the throne of grace,

that we may obtain mercy,

and find grace to help

in time of need.”    Hebrews 4:14-16

Even when we fall short, we can know that our precious Lord Jesus is ever standing in the gap through our moments of weakness and confusion, for He not only saves but keeps and guards His own for our good and HIS glory!

“Being confident of this very thing,

that he which hath begun a good work

in you

will perform it

until the day of Jesus Christ:”   Philippians 1:6

Oh, how wonderful the work that Jesus has done for us and is ever doing on our behalf no matter where you /I are—HE knows, and HE is praying for us.

“But this man,

because he continueth ever,

hath an unchangeable priesthood.

25 Wherefore he is able also

to save them to the uttermost

that come unto God by him,

seeing he ever liveth

to make intercession

for them.”  Hebrews 7:24-25

And because He prays for us, we are called to pray for others by HIS power, HIS name, and HIS command!

“Rejoice evermore.

17 Pray without ceasing.

18 In every thing give thanks:

for this is the will of God

in Christ Jesus

concerning you.”  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

We are called to pray, and I just want to leave you with a few passages that help us know how to pray, as well as some things that we ought to continually be praying for and about.  May God help us all to be more steadfast in seeking HIM in all things!

“But when ye pray,

use not vain repetitions,

as the heathen do:

for they think

that they shall be heard

for their much speaking.

8 Be not ye therefore like unto them:

for your Father knoweth

what things ye have need of,

before ye ask him.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done

in earth,

as it is in heaven.”   Matthew 6:7-10

“Therefore said he unto them,

The harvest truly is great,

but the labourers are few:

pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest,

that he would send forth labourers

into his harvest.”  Luke 10:2

And in these perilous days in which we are living, may we ever pray that we would truly be seeking HIS Kingdom and not just our own; may we be praying to be useable and faithful; may we be praying that HIS will be done, that we would be vessels unto HIS honor and glory!  Always.

“But the end of all things

is at hand:

be ye therefore sober,

and watch

unto prayer.”  1 Peter 4:7

May the words of our Lord Jesus’ prayer for us ever ring in our hearts and minds.

“For I have given unto them the words

which thou gavest me;

and they have received them,

and have known surely

that I came out from thee,

and they have believed

that thou didst send me.

9 I pray for them:

I pray not for the world,

but for them

which thou hast given me;

for they are thine.

10 And all mine

are thine,

and thine are mine;

and I am glorified in them.

11 And now I am no more in the world,

but these are in the world,

and I come to thee.

Holy Father,

keep through thine own name

those whom thou hast given me,

that they may be one,

as we are…

…. 15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them

out of the world,

but that thou shouldest keep them

from the evil.

16 They are not of the world,

even as I am not of the world.

17 Sanctify them through thy truth:

thy word is truth.

18 As thou hast sent me

into the world,

even so have I also sent them

into the world.”  Portions of John 17:8-18

Amen and Amen!!!

May we pray on!!!
