What’s Your Mouth Showing??? A Word from THE WORD!!! #65
I have just a brief but most important word to share with you this morning. I speak from a grieved heart, and I pray that this will speak to hearts, lives and ‘tongues’ today.
“Thou shalt not
take the name of the LORD thy God
in vain;
for the LORD will not hold him guiltless
that taketh his name
in vain.” Exodus 20:7
While the Ten Commandments are seen as relatively impotent in our world, even in ‘so called Christendom’, it makes my heart sad, and I simply want to share Jesus’ commentary on the mouth, and ask each of us to examine our heart, soul, and ‘mouth’! How are you and I using the “name of The Lord” –especially if we claim the name of God’s own Son, Jesus! Our lives, walk and conversation should reflect our love, awe, and respect for The God we claim to love and serve. How do you use God’s name (any of them), Jesus’ name? I won’t leave a list of violations, for if God can’t convict you, I can’t. But I call each of us to examine our own heart and mouth, and ask God to reveal truth to our eyes, mind, heart, and soul! May we truly seek to please and obey HIM today–every day!
“And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11 Not that which goeth into the mouth
defileth a man;
but that which cometh
out of the mouth,
this defileth a man…
…. 18 But those things
which proceed out of the mouth
come forth from the heart;
and they defile the man.
19 For out of the heart proceed
evil thoughts,
murders,
adulteries,
fornications,
thefts,
false witness,
blasphemies:”
Matthew 15:10-11 & 18-19
May we truly ask God to search our heart today…
“Search me, O God,
and know my heart:
try me,
and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way
in me,
and lead me
in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24
“But let a man examine himself…..” 1 Corinthians 11:28a
“Examine yourselves,
whether ye be in the faith;
prove your own selves….” 2 Corinthians 13:5a
I pray that God will move amongst us today. May Jesus Christ be glorified.
Amen and Amen!!!
