A Friday Tidbit For You??? A Word from THE WORD!!! #482

“Hast thou not known?

hast thou not heard,

that the everlasting God,

the LORD,

the Creator of the ends of the earth,

fainteth not,

neither is weary?

there is no searching of his understanding.

29 He giveth power

to the faint;

and to them that have no might

he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths

shall faint and be weary,

and the young men

shall utterly fall: 

31 But they that wait upon the LORD

shall renew their strength;

 

they shall mount up

with wings as eagles;

 

they shall run,

and not be weary;

 

and they shall walk,

and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:28-31

While this is a familiar passage, I want to take a new look at it from a perspective we may not have considered.  I want us to consider four things that we need to take in.

Recognition—verses 28-29, we see Isaiah reminding us of God’s faithful strength, power and sovereign knowledge.

Response—verse 30, the first response we see is that many will faint, fail and forsake God (as His people Israel were doing), yet God was sending this message through Isaiah to His people—some heard, some rejected, some turned to God. How will you respond?

Reliance—verse 31, regardless of where we are in life or location, God will help us as we hear, heed and harken to His will for us.  He tells us in this verse what we need to learn to rely upon—knowing that “waiting upon the Lord” is where we need to live; not just where we need to talk about being, but where we need to live!  I say that knowing that I am at the top of the list of those who hate hearing that “W” word—Wait!  How about you?

But what does God say—He says that we are to “wait upon the LORD”!  Wait on Him not time, not money, not circumstances, but rely on our Lord!!!  No matter how hard it is, no matter how hurried we have become, we are to learn to respond to The Lord and HIS timing.

Paul gives us such a beautiful reminder; I pray that it will encourage you today.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren,

by the mercies of God,

that ye present your bodies

a living sacrifice,

holy,

acceptable unto God,

which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world:

but be ye transformed

by the renewing of your mind,

that ye may prove

what is that good,

and acceptable,

and perfect, will of God.”  Romans 12:1-2

Give it all to Jesus!  Today, tomorrow and each that He gives us, serve HIM!!!
