Bible Ballistics: BBs #249 When I Am Afraid, What???
We all have those moments, those nights, those days when things seem to come against us faster than we can even comprehend. Yet our God is never, I repeat never, caught off guard or by surprise. As one of my favorite evangelists, David Ring says, “God NEVER says ‘ooops’!” Praise God, that is so true!!! Our God is in total sovereign control, and we can trust Him in all things, all times and all situations.
The Psalms give us much comfort when we are distressed, confused or desperate for answers, because God is always faithful to His people—ALWAYS! And we can trust and depend on His loving, perfect beneficent care! The Psalms give great comfort to us, especially in those times.
“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. 4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.” Psalm 56:3-4
And God reminds of these things often in scripture:
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” Hebrews 13:5-6
Whatever your situation today, God is waiting for you to call on Him, to rest in Him, to depend on His care. I am so grateful that I have not had to walk through this life without Jesus; He has walked with me, spoken to my troubled heart, and directed my steps, when I had no idea of which way to turn. And dear friends HE is here for YOU! He came that we could have “LIFE” in Him, that we could know Him and walk confidently with Him through the challenges, and crises that this earthly life naturally presents to each and every person. And God is providing for all who come to Him through the blood of the Lamb. He has given us His Word and His Spirit to guide us into all truth and confidence.
“Stand in awe, and sin not:
commune with your own heart
upon your bed,
and be still. Selah.
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness,
and put your trust in the Lord.
6 There be many that say,
Who will shew us any good?
lift thou up the light of thy countenance
7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart,
more than in the time that their corn
and their wine increased.”
“8 I will both lay me down in peace,
for thou, Lord, only
makest me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:4-8
So??? Look up, trust God, rest in HIM and walk confidently through each day, knowing that God is there even when you’re not sure what is going on. Rest in Him today—He knows those who are His own, He is in control, and you can trust HIM—ALWAYS!!!
“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his…” 2 Tim 2:19a
