Bible Ballistics: BBs #310 Sometimes It Hurts!!!
I’m taking a break today from our “Messages From Heaven” to share a word of encouragement that we all may need. Whatever is going on around us, we know that our God reigns! As we in America celebrate ‘Veterans Day’, honoring those who have served our country in the military services, we can also honor the One who gave Himself for our salvation, for our deliverance from sin, and who gives hope for today and the future—because HE IS our future.
Let’s share a few words of scripture, to help focus our attitude of gratitude, and to remind us Who IS our hope in the midst of chaos, fear, confusion, sorrow or grief. Our Lord has already overcome! And we can too!
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Jesus has overcome the world, sin and death at Calvary! He had no sin; He was already The Overcomer and He was/is life, yet He came to die for us. He came that we might have life rather than death and hell! In Him, even separation from those whom we love and care about, can’t erase the peace and hope of His sacrifice, but gives comfort by the surety of a heavenly reunion with those who also belong to Him. And His “life” within us now, brings peace and hope rather than desperation–Peace in the midst of any storm!
“Therefore being justified by faith,
we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith
into this grace
wherein we stand,
and rejoice
in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so,
but we glory in tribulations also:
knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience;
and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed;
because the love of God
is shed abroad
in our hearts
by the Holy Ghost
which is given
unto us.
6 For when we were yet without strength,
in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die:
yet peradventure for a good man
some would even dare to die.
8 But God
commendeth his love toward us,
in that,
while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.” Romans 5:1-8
We have “peace with God through” HIM, so give it all to Jesus! Whatever you burden is today—Jesus can handle it!
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
“……2 My help cometh from the Lord……
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:
he that keepeth thee will not slumber. ….
5 The Lord is thy keeper:………
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil:
he shall preserve thy soul. …..
even for evermore.” Portions of Psalm 121
