Bible Ballistics: BBs #344  His Strength Not Mine!!!

Sometimes we get weary—be it from over activity, stress, illness, family demands, work demands, church demands or any plethora of drains on our strength and energy. Just like a battery will just stop working when it’s out of power, so will we come to a place of “stopping” our productivity if we don’t recognize our need to ‘re-charge’ and make sure we are plugged into the right power source, and using our energies in the right places, at the right times and in the right ways.

I want us to take a few minutes today and focus on our “Power Source”, to remind ourselves of WHO provides our every need when we are doing what He’s called us to do.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” Hebrews 13:5-6

Our God has promised “never” to leave us, those who are His own by the blood of Jesus. God is ever at work to conform us into the image of His Son, and you can trust to His strong hand. You can run into His shelter—and find safety, for He has promised to be our “strong tower”.

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” Psalm 18:2

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”    Psalm 18:10

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1

And we can find the strength of our provider in HIS Word, which speaks to our hearts, directs our steps, and reveals HIS heart to ours that we might know the way to go!

Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. 106 I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments.” Psalm 119:104-106

And the more we know Him, the more we will learn to trust Him in every situation, every time. We will learn that HIS timing is perfect, and even when we don’t understand what HE is doing, we can trust in His perfect love for us. We will learn to ‘wait on the Lord!

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalm 27:14

Believe it or not, waiting is often the ‘gas station’ of our souls, as well as our heart and mind. God may be fueling you for the next leg of the journey. Don’t rush, just rest in HIS perfect, sovereign will today! After all, we all know what happens when we try to run a car without gas; we wind up stranded somewhere that we don’t usually want to be!

But they that wait upon the Lord

shall renew their strength;

they shall mount up with wings

as eagles;

they shall run,

and not be weary;

and they shall walk,

and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

So whatever you’re struggling with today—be it the regular hustle and bustle of mid-week activity, an extreme personal crisis, a health issue that has you frightened or alarmed, or any other plague that is weighing on your heart and mind—take heart, the Lord God Almighty still reigns, and He hasn’t said “oops”, for He is working in and through all these events to bring you, and me, nearer to Him; and to show the world His glory, strength and power. You can stand fast in His love for you, just get your ‘thinking cap’ on and focus on Jesus, not the ‘lions’ snapping at your feet.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”     2 Timothy 1:7

Look up my friend, God has you safe in HIS hands, and He NEVER fails!!! Just keep your eyes on Jesus!

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”     Hebrews 12:2

So have a blessed day trusting in HIS strength, you don’t have to rely on your own strength when you have God’s strength at hand!!!
