Bible Ballistics: BBs  #380 Where Is Your Confidence???

The book of Hebrews is a deep look at the walk of faith in difficult times, and we are also in difficult times. ‘Times’ which are getting worse all the time, yet we who belong to Jesus never have to face the day alone! We have a Lord and Savior who has delivered the victory at Calvary. The last chapter of Hebrews leaves us with a summary of what a faithful Christian walk looks like. I pray that we will find encouragement in these words.

Let brotherly love continue.

2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers:

for thereby some

have entertained angels unawares.

3 Remember them that are in bonds,

as bound with them;

and them which suffer adversity,

as being yourselves also in the body.

4 Marriage is honourable in all,

and the bed undefiled:

but whoremongers

and adulterers

God will judge.

5 Let your conversation

be without covetousness;

and be content

with such things as ye have:

for he hath said,

I will never leave thee,

nor forsake thee.

6 So that we may boldly say,

The Lord is my helper,

and I will not fear

what man shall do unto me.

7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God:

whose faith follow,

considering the end

of their conversation.

8 Jesus Christ

the same yesterday,

and to day,

and for ever.” Hebrews 13:1-8

If I might presume to paraphrase this passage, let’s just put it in a nutshell

We believers are to live:

exercising brotherly love

being hospitable to all

not neglecting those who suffer for their faith

whether by imprisonment or adversity

honoring God’s Biblical standard of marriage

a contented, unselfish life,

without the distraction of greed/materialism

honoring faithful leaders, who lead with integrity

confidently knowing our God IS ever faithful to us!

So rest today (everyday) in the truth of HIS promise to never forsake us! We can confidently trust in HIM!

What shall we then say to these things? If God   be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

When we follow Jesus, we can live confidently knowing:

The Lord is my helper,

and I will not fear

what man shall do unto me.

All because:

Jesus Christ

the same yesterday,

and to day,

and for ever.”
