Bible Ballistics: BBs #461   In HIS Care???

Humble yourselves therefore

under the mighty hand of God,

that he may exalt you

in due time:

7 Casting all your care

upon him

for he careth for you.

8 Be sober,

be vigilant;

because your adversary the devil,

as a roaring lion,

walketh about,

seeking whom he may devour:

9 Whom resist stedfast

in the faith,

knowing that the same afflictions

are accomplished in your brethren

that are in the world.”    1 Peter 5:6-9

As we face this beautiful Friday, where are you focused? Are you overwhelmed by the circumstances that surround you? Are you grieving over a loss? Are you tired and weary of the battles that have been raging about you? Well, my friend, I have good news for you—YOU are not alone, and God cares about every moment of your day! We all have times when we just need to be reminded to keep on:

Casting all your care

upon him

for he careth for you.

The enemy of our souls is always trying to tell us that we are alone and hopeless, but God has already declared that “he careth for you”! One of the things that I have always found helpful is rehearsing the blessings of God. While we can’t control the future—but our God can and does—we can go over the blessings and goodness of God in our own lives. I keep a journal, and sometimes I pull out one of the old ones and go over the things that God has done, simply to remind myself of HIS faithful provision and care for me! And God never changes, even as the Proverb reminds us, “Remove not the old landmark”, in part a reference to remembering the past to learn from it and be blessed by what God has done with it, because HE is also working in your “today” and mine!

And I said,

My strength and my hope

is perished

from the LORD:

19 Remembering mine affliction

and my misery,

the wormwood

and the gall.

20 My soul hath them still in remembrance,

and is humbled in me.

21 This I recall to my mind,

therefore have I hope.

22 It is of the LORD’S mercies

that we are not consumed,

because his compassions

fail not.

23 They are new every morning:

great is thy faithfulness.”    Lamentations 3:18-23

They are new every morning”—and that is true for you and me—today! So whatever you’re facing this morning, remember to keep “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith” for “he careth for you”!

Amen and Amen!!!
