Bible Ballistics: BBs #648 Are You Battle Fatigued???
We talked last time about our Lord God being the One who fights our battles when we will rest in Him, take our hands off, and watch God work! Yet, sometimes God sends us to take a sling and a rock and face our giants, but like David, we must, I repeat we must, remember that our confidence is in the God we serve, not in our own abilities, ideas, strength or wisdom. We must learn to rely on the wisdom of God, the strength of our Lord, and trust to His direction, care and provision.
As Paul told the church at Ephesus, our armor is effective because of “The One” who empowers it! Let’s peruse Paul’s encouragement to the believers who needed the armor of God, but even more importantly, they needed the God who empowers that armor!
“Finally, my brethren,
be strong
in the Lord,
and in the power
of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not
against flesh and blood,
but against principalities,
against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness
of this world,
against spiritual wickedness
in high places.” Ephesians 6:10-12
We often become weary because we forget that our enemy is most often unseen—but our God is ever present with us! We see HIM with spiritual eyes, and hear HIS voice speaking to our hearts through the power of HIS precious Holy Spirit. So, I simply want to share a few scriptures that I pray will encourage you in your “battle fatigue” today. May God’s Word be that “balm of Gilead” to sooth the troubled soul!
“But the Comforter,
which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things
to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you,
my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth,
give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.” John 14:26-27
Our peace and confidence come from our Lord, not our circumstances—rest in HIM. And in closing one of my personal favorite passages; I pray that it will encourage and comfort you in your battles today! This entire chapter is one of my “go-to” scriptures.
“Trust
in the LORD,
and do good;
so shalt thou dwell in the land,
and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight
thyself also in the LORD;
and he shall give thee the desires
of thine heart.
5 Commit
thy way
unto the LORD;
trust also
in him;
and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth
thy righteousness
as the light,
and thy judgment
as the noonday.
7 Rest
in the LORD,
and wait patiently for him:
fret not
thyself because of him
who prospereth in his way,
because of the man
who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease
from anger,
and forsake
wrath:
fret not thyself in any wise
to do evil.” Psalm 37:3-8
I pray that this will encourage you today and lift your heart upward—remember you have a Savior who cares! He is ever there for you! Let HIM ease your ‘fatigue’!
“For we have not an high priest
which cannot be touched with the feeling
of our infirmities;
but was in all points tempted
like as we are,
yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly
unto the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy,
and find grace to help
in time of need.” Hebrews 4:15-16
Amen and Amen!!!
