Bible Ballistics: BBs #337   Wisdom To Walk Right???

Order my steps

in thy word:

and let not any iniquity

have dominion over me.

134 Deliver me

from the oppression of man:

so will I keep thy precepts.” Psalm 119:133-134

Just a ‘Word’ (Some wisdom from God.) for us to think on through this weekend, as we are out, about and probably caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, so that like the Psalmist we would desire to have GodOrder my steps in thy word”!

With that thought in mind, I’d like to share a few insights that I pray will be helpful to you in your pursuit to “Walk Right” in every step.

First, we must realize that to ‘order our stepsin God’s Word, we must know God’s Word! That requires spending time in His Word: not just reading it quickly to be able to mark something off of our ‘check-list’, but searching out its riches, feasting on the “meat” of the Word.

Eating meat is for the mature, those who will commit time to know Jesus through HIS Word. We must make time (Because you’ll NEVER find time for it!) to be in God’s Word—time spent not only reading it, but asking God to give us understanding of what we are reading. It means not only reading it to see “What does it say?”; but going farther and studying to see “What does that mean?”; and possibly the most important part of searching the scripture, asking, “What does this mean to ME?” What does God want me to do about what He has revealed to my heart in His Word?

God wants us to apply His truth to our daily lives. Only when we are willing to hear and obey, can we truly pray:

Order my steps

in thy word:

and let not any iniquity

have dominion over me.

134 Deliver me

from the oppression of man:

so will I keep thy precepts.

To walk right we must realize that The Word of God is the road map to successful, holy, right living/walking.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalm 119:11

Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.” Psalm 119:67

Think on these things—every day, every moment of every day. God calls us to Himself that we might know HIM and be a reflection of His glory. And we can only fulfill that purpose as we draw near to Him through His Word, and prayer, which will lead us to right walking/living!

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (Perfect means mature.)
